Just select the "Edit Column Contents" option.
You can insert the survey direction uncorrected for declination BUT Be sure the proper declination is in the survey header, and then click the "Raw Azimuths" option. The declination will be added to the survey azimuth(direction).
PathTracker can be set to calculate surveys using Minimum Curvature, Radius of Curvature or Average Angle algorithms. Set individual surveys from the survey Header, or set global defaults from the Options dialog.
Yes. Use the Export option of the File menu.
When opening a file, select the ".txt" file type. PathTracker will start a wizard for reading the file.
A graph template is simply a saved graph template file with all of the features set that you want to reuse. To create a graph template, create any graph and customize the backgrounds and formatting that you want all you need to do is open ‘Chart Designer’ in there you’ll have access to many aspects that allow you the ease of creating your chart templates.
By default, PathTracker will display Build Rate and Turn Rate as positive values. However, PathTracker enables users to display drop rates and left turns as negative values. - For more details check out the Tips tab.
PathTracker rounds all numbers for display? If a text line does not display exactly where you want it to, it could be because of rounding. Try subtracting 0.1 from or adding 0.1 to the text line depth to get it where you want it.
PathTracker only provides a straight vertical build up rate required to reach a target. Providing this would need a 3-dimensional calculation but you can manually do this calculation with PathTracker.
The user needs to extrapolate ahead to the target, adding adjusted interpolated surveys, if necessary, to hit the target (in case they wander off the proposal line in turn or fall behind in vertical build up rates, that sort of thing) then use a column for Toolface to tell you where you need to orientate and the dogleg severity to tell you how much to slide. Works very well.
PathTracker enables users to enter any number of targets for each drilling file. (See PathTracker Help for in-depth information on creating targets.) These targets can be displayed on the graphs by selecting the "Show Targets" check box on the "Set Graphing Options" screen.
Click the right mouse button when the mouse cursor is over the survey grid for a menu of options for manipulating the display.
If you want a printed manual for use with PathTracker you can create one? Go to the Help File and select the Contents tab. Open each of the options displayed and print the pages.
Check the Help file for a full set of instructions for transferring the license.
Q. How come you are not able to drill build and turns with PathTracker? It only gives build rate required in the dogleg calculation but not the turn rate required in the dogleg computation to reach the target.
A. PathTracker only gives a straight vertical build up rate required to reach a target. Providing this would need a 3 dimensional calculation for sure. But with that being said, you can manually do this calculation with PathTracker and I use it all the time.
The user needs to extrapolate ahead to the target, adding adjusted interpolated surveys if necessary to hit the target (in case they wander off the proposal line in turn or fall behind in vertical build up rates, that sort of thing) then use a column for toolface to tell you where you need to orientate and the dogleg severity to tell you how much to slide. Works very well.
Click the right mouse button while the mouse cursor is on top of the survey grid for a menu of choices for manipulating the survey grid.
Look under the View menu for "Options" and then select the "Defaults" tab.
Logo File Name
When PathTracker 6.0 generates a report, it first checks under the Temp folder in “ Default Survey File Folder” for one of the following image file. To customize your logo, save your logo with "ReportLogo" as the file name and .bmp/gif/jpg/png as the file type. For example:
Changing the default units in the survey header does NOT affect the display. If you change the survey header units, the display will convert the units before displaying them. Use the File menu "Convert Units" option to convert the file from feet to meters or visa versa.
In the Print dialog, just set the number of lines between separators to 0.
Just print the plot to your plotter driver and use it's options to set the plot size, etc.
Set your name and address in the Options dialog, and then click the checkbox to turn on printing of this information.
If you turned off the Welcome Dialog that comes up when you start PathTracker, you can turn it back on? look under the Files tab from the Options dialog.
Look under the View menu for "Options" and then select the "Files" tab.
If you are working with a large file on a slow computer, you can split the file into two pieces, work on the smaller file, and then put the files back together later? Look under the File menu for Split and Merge options.
Q. I tried to create a graph I got an ‘Unhandled Exception Error" - what’s the fix?
A. Uninstall and reinstall PT6.x that will repair the error message. It’s a good idea to have a copy of your version of the PT6.exe with you to install while onsite. The most current version is PT18.104.22.168… Also make sure that your Club PT membership is current for a no hassle support experience, if you are a current Club PT member you can have the latest PT22.214.171.124 version as part of your membership.
The lease option is intended to be for shorter time frame it’s not a rent to own program. This was created as an option because of the challenges and uncertainties in the global market place. Many of our friends have been impacted by the state of the oil prices over the last couple of years. The lease helps in the short term, with minimal upfront costs.
You might like to check with your accountant, with respect to the write off against revenue earned, you may find that leasing is better vs a perpetual license or you may find its vice versa and help offset any investment concerns that you may be having.
The Import Text File Wizard carries you through an easy multiple step process for reading a generic text file into PathTracker.
Your text file must follow a couple of simple rules if you want to use the wizard to import it.

Onscreen Survey Calculation Program (the father of PathTracker) is likely the most pirated directional drilling program in the world. This is it's modern and totally updated successor.
Licensing of PathTracker products is now easier than ever. You already have the complete PathTracker package; it just needs to be activated.
PathTracker writes a unique code to your hard disk that effectively locks a licensed program to your computer. Any code provided to you for licensing will only work on the computer for which it is supplied. You must obtain a unique code for every installation.

The survey grid is the basic tool of the PathTracker program. The grid can be customized to meet your individual or corporate needs. Data can be displayed in a variety of units, in any font and in any color. You can view the grid with or without grid lines, and you can freeze the first column to provide a common reference point while horizontal scrolling.
To customize the grid, right click the mouse to display the grid menu. As you create your customized grid, you are making changes to a Format. Once you have completed your changes, you can save this format for future reference. You can also make your format the default for future survey files. There is no limit to the number of format files you can save.
It was designed and written by a directional drilling professional and is designed to fit the needs of the industry in an easy to use and simple user interface.
Use the Export option of the File menu to export a file.
PathTracker files can be exported to:
When exporting to a text file or to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, the export is identical to the current display format?
When exporting, be sure to set the display to the format you want to use for export.
